Vacationing with Kids! Tips!

Mom of 3 here, and I am going to be completely honest with you all...vacations with my kids have always scared me. The thought of taking a vacation with my kids always seemed like pure torture! But let's be real if you are able to it is a must do as a family.

What was I afraid of you ask?... Interrupting other people on the plane, TANTRUMS!, my kids sleeping, lugging suitcases' with us, and the stress of it all. Over the last few years, I got over it, and have traveled with my family of 5, and am so happy I bit the bullet and just did it!

As much as vacations are NEEDED, bringing your kiddies on a vacation can be beyond stressful. The packing, the plane, the sleeping arrangements... It is all A LOT... I have cringed thinking about taking my kids on vacation....Let's admit it, going to Eleuthera is not a hop skip and a jump away from Jersey...But had always dreamed on going on vacation to the impeccable Eleuthera with my husband and kids, it is where my heart is...

Over the last few years we have traveled so much, and I have learned what works best for us as a family! Low and behold, I have done Eleuthera with my kids multiple times, and can say it is stressful, but so worth it.

Here are some ways that have always made our traveling days easier:

Snack boxes: I always grab some craft boxes at Michaels and add some various snacks for my kids to snack on the plane. Pull them out when they start getting antsy, it works like a charm!

Ipads and headphones: My kids NEVER use their I pads but when we are flying, they can use it for the entire day. Headphones are necessary to make sure you do not disturb anyone on the plane. Make sure you download any games, movies and shows and have those I pads FULLY charged and ready to go! Do not forget to bring those chargers with you in the airport!

New small toys: I always throw in some new toys for my kids to open. My 7 and 8 year old love the Mini brand surprise toys, and my 3 year old son loves some new Playdoh and toys (small of course). I throw in new small toys they never have seen before and just grab them when they need a change! It keeps them entertained for a total of 10 minutes, but sometimes they just need that, and let's be real so do I! Quick tip: Five & Below sells such cheap toys to grab!

Books, Crayons, and Stickers: Throw in stickers with paper, and fun books where they can stick things or create things!

Pack Lite: You never wear everything you bring, just pack less but enough! There is nothing worse than your husband lugging around the 5 suitcases you packed! Pack the kids together, and you and your husband's clothing!

Packing Cubes: They are the best way to organize everyone's clothing, and when you get to your destination, you can just put them into the drawers and you are set!

Snacks: Pack some snacks in your suitcases, and throw in some microwavable mac and cheeses or something easy to make in case you are in a jam! (A quick meal if you are stuck - it helps!)

Early Dinners: Try for early dinners it helps with their moods, and you can grab a cocktail and enjoy yourselves too!
